Da Jia Hao!
I am the Chinese Coordinator of International Relations, Kaku Enchiku from Beijing, who arrived in Sapporo in April 2009. It’s very nice to meet you!
Ever since I began studying Japanese at Beijing Normal University, I have had a deep interest in Japan and its culture. For nearly one year, from April 2006 to February 2007, I had the opportunity to study abroad at Tenri University in Nara Prefecture, as well as experience daily life in Japan. More than anything else, while I was in Japan, I was taken under the wing of some very kind Japanese people, and was able to create wonderful memories without feeling the slightest inconvenience in everyday life. This time, taking the opportunity granted to me by the JET program, I hope to pay back some small part of the kindness that was shown to me (makes me embarrassed to say it… but I mean it! ^_^;).
From studying Japanese, to coming to Japan, to being able to interact with Japanese people, I have gained an impression of an entirely different way of life, which never ceases to amaze me. I hope that I can help show the citizens of Sapporo just how amazing it is to learn about another culture and way of life, too! Also, with the assistance of Sapporo’s sister city Shenyang and other organizations connected with China, I want to support Chinese citizens living here, and, through working together, help create a globally-connected, multicultural Sapporo.
Of course, I will start out by achieving a lot of smaller goals closer to home, one by one. I look forward to seeing all of you at the International Plaza! |
