The SAPPORO HELP DESK for Foreign Residents has officially opened on Nov. 28th. Consigned by Sapporo City government, the Sapporo International Communication Plaza Foundation will handle the management and operation of the help desk.
Foreigners who live in Sapporo are welcome to consult about problems that they have encountered in their lives in Japan. Advice and support will be provided so that the consultee can be better prepared to solve problems by themselves.
 
The Help Desk can provide consultation for a variety of problems, such as:
-Where to learn Japanese?
-How to respond to letters from ward governments?
-What do I need to know when my wife is expecting a baby?
-How to apply for a daycare center?
-How to file an income tax return?
-How to deal with family troubles? etc.
※A representative is acceptable if the person in question cannot come him or herself.

【Hours of Operation】
Monday to Friday 9:30AM~5PM
※Closed on national holidays and during the New year’s break(12/29-1/3).
 
【Multilingual Support】(Up to 12 languages)
We have staff who can speak simple Japanese, English, and Chinese.
Other language support will be provided via telephone interpretation.
(9:30 AM~5PM: English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese.)
(10:00 AM~5PM: Vietnam, Tagalog, Russian, Nepalese, French, Thai.)
 
札幌国际交流中心受札幌市政府委托开设了札幌市外国人支援咨询中心。
住在札幌市的外国人如果在生活中有任何的困扰或不安,都可以来本中心咨询。中心的工作人员将尽量在您解决问题的过程中提供必要的帮助。
 
【可以咨询的事项有哪些呢?】
●想学日语。
●收到了区政府的信函,但不明白应该怎样应对。
●因为不了解在日本生孩子的相关制度而困扰。
●想送孩子去保育所。
●不懂该怎样纳税。
●因家庭方面的问题而苦恼。等等
※不仅外国人本人,也受理来自接收机构或支援者的咨询。

窗口职员可应对的语言:简单易懂的日语,英语,中文。
通过电话翻译可应对的语言:
9:30~17:00 英语、中文、韩语、西班牙语、葡萄牙语。
10:00~17:00 越南语、菲律宾语、俄语、尼泊尔语、法语、泰语。
