Mr. Simon TREMBLAYfrom Canada
From my experience living at the Sapporo International Student Centre, living here is akin to living at an international crossroads of sorts. You’ll meet and live alongside people from all around the world, many of which will become lifelong friends. The exchange-based nature of the Centre has given me the chance to learn about so many interesting places, foods, cultures, and ideas from around the world. I’ve had the opportunity to get involved with the broader community in Sapporo and learn about Japanese culture through participation in cultural exchange conferences and initiatives, and by joining the community in distinctly Japanese cultural events such as traditional ceremonies or musical performances. For a small-town guy like me, that kind of experience is invaluable! If you’re looking to have an interesting and involved life during your time in Sapporo, I recommend SISC in a heartbeat!

It is very comfortable to live here and very close to the supermarket, post office and subway station. The most enjoyable thing is that you can not only meet other Chinese people same as me, but also meet people from other foreigners and make friends with them. The kitchen is a shared space, so there are plenty of opportunities to get to know them.
Furthermore, one of the most important things in the study abroad life is to be able to ask someone you can rely on immediately if you have any questions. The staff in the SISC are very reliable and kind. If there is something I don't understand, I can ask for help right away, which gives me a sense of security. I want to live in the SISC all the way until I graduate. -

Sapporo International Student Center is more than just a place to live. My family and I are overwhelmed with gratitude for the convenience and comfort this place offers. Being situated right in front of a subway station and with grocery stores just around the corner has made our lives so much easier. But what really sets this place apart is the exceptional management office team.
Their unwavering support has been invaluable to us, especially when it comes to my son's school admission. They've gone above and beyond to make sure that our transition to Japan is as smooth as possible. The resident assistants have also been a source of joy and community for us. They work tirelessly to organize events that bring all the residents together.
We are forever thankful to have the opportunity to live at Sapporo International Student Center. It has become our second home, a place where we feel safe, comfortable, and surrounded by a loving community. -

I think the most enjoyable part of living here is getting to know many people and being able to do various things with friends. Before coming to Japan, I was worried that I would not be able to make friends because of my poor Japanese. However, when I moved here, the office staff introduced me to residents who are studying at the same school or are the same nationality and speak the same language. Of course, you can get to know people from other countries by attending various events held here. Because I got to know these friends, I enjoyed my time in Japan even under the COVID-19 pandemic.

I was really worried about living with my wife and two kids in Sapporo with very little Japanese knowledge. But moving into Sapporo International Student Center (SISC) has made my life very comfortable. The location of the building is excellent with a subway station just in front of the building. Supermarkets, children’s parks, elementary school, and Toyohira riverfront are just within 5 minutes’ walking distance. But what makes this building stand out is the hospitality and help rendered by the management office. The management office staff are very helpful and have excellent English skills. They have helped in my son’s admission into elementary school, helped with my family’s medical needs, and many other issues of daily life. The building also has Resident Assistants who regularly organize a lot of fun activities and are always ready to help. The international diversity in the building allows understanding and cherishing the different cultures. My family is loving their stay in Japan because of SISC.

I really like my life in Sapporo International Student Center. Actually, I've lived here for half a year. There are many events here, and I've made many friends here. The staff of management office are very friendly. There is study room and gymnasium in the centers, you don't need to go to a library or gym for your study or sport. And there are supermarkets, drug shop, sauna near the center, you just need to take a 10-minuite walk, you'll get to them. The subway entrance is just in front of the center. So, the life of the center is convenient. I like the center very much, I decided to continue to live here!

Moving to a new country is never easy, there are many things to worry about like where to live, how to move around the city, getting to know people, and communicating in a different language. However, moving into Sapporo International Student Center has made everything easier. The Management Staff is really nice, helpful, and they all have very good English; and there are supporters that can help you with Japanese procedures. The building is right in front of a subway station which makes it easier to move around. Living in a building with students of many different nationalities allows you to make good friends. Also, Resident Assistants and staff are always organizing activities which makes it enjoyable and fun. We love living here!

I have been living in this center for three years now, enjoying the environment where they offer various kinds of events almost all the time including international exchange, communication with neighborhood residents, welcome/farewell parties, and so on. The room is convenient, friendly staff, quiet neighborhood... I am having fun days here. Seems like I have become a complete Toyohira-native now.

When I came to the center for the first time, I thought it is very quiet, clean, and convenient because there was a gym inside the center. My impression remains the same after four years of living here. Every time I come back, there are office staff or security guards welcoming me by saying “Okaeri (welcome home)”, and I feel like I come back to my parents’ house in my home town in Kyrgyzstan.
